1 I A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY: COUNCIL OF THE CITY: OF VERNON FInNG
THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AS OF JULY
2 1, 1950, UNTI,L FURTHER ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND REPEALING
ALL OTHER RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.

4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Effective July 1, 1950, the following
6 employees of the City of Vernon shall receive the compensation
7 or salary hereinafter set forth.
This resolution shall not
8 affect the existing compensation of any officer or employee not
9 in this resolution specifically set forth:

21 Hosemen employed by the Fire Department of the City
22 shall receive a salary of $282.00 per month for the first year
23 they are employed in the City of Vernon. AIl employees of said

Fire Department shall be employed temporarily for the first six
(6) months of their employment before receiving a permanent ap-
25
pointment. After said employees have been a permanent employee
of the City of Vernon for a period of six (6) months, the salary
shall be $293.00 per month, and, after said employee has been a
permanent fireman for a period of eighteen (18) months, his salary
shall be $307.00 per month until further order of the City Council.
The Chief of the Fire Department, in addition to the

salary above set forth, shall receive, when he uses his own auto-

1 mobile in the service of the city, an additional sum of $75.00
2 per month, being an allQwance for the use and maintenance of
3 said automobile. The City shall not be responsible for repairs
4 or any additional cost for upkeep, fuel, lubrication or other
5 expense to any automobile beyond the amount hereinabove set
6 forth.
7 Section 2.
8 POLICE DEPARTMENT
9 Members of the Police Department of the City of vernon
10 shal1 receive the following salaries and compensations for their
11 services:

Police Chief - - - - - - - -$ 522.00 per month

Sergeant
- - - 337.00 per month
14 Clerks, Patro~en, Motorcycle or Automobile Officers
15 shall each receive a salary of $295.00 per month for the first
16 six (6) months they are employed by the City of Vernon. Arter
17 the first six (6) months they shall receive a salary of $301.00
18 per month for a period of one (1) year.
Arter said period of
19 one (1) year they shall receive a salary of $307.00 per month,
20
and thereafter $313.00 per month until further order of the City
council.

In addition to said salaries each officer or policeman
shall receive" when they use their own automobile or motorcycle
in the service of the City, an additional sum of $75.00 per
month, being an allowance for the use and maintenance of said
motor equipment. The City shall not be responsible for repairs
or any additional cost for upkeep, fuel, lubrication or other
expanse to any motorcycle or other vehicle beyond the amount

The Street Painter employed by the police Department
shall receive a salary of $10.00 per day.

Section 5. The salaries herein set forth for the
2 several officers and employees of the city of Vernon in the
3 different departments, ahall be in full force and effect from
4 and after the 1st day of July, 1950.

Section 6. Each employee of the City shall be en-
6 titled to two (2) weeks vacation during the second year of said
7 service and each year thereafter, at full pay, but wherever an
8 allowance is made in addition to the salary he rein se t forth,
9 said allowance will not be allowed during the vacation period.

Section 7. All Resolutions in conflict with this
11 resolution are hereby repealed.

section 8. The Oity Clerk of the City ot Vernon shall
13 certify to the passage ot this resolution and thereupon and
14 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
