1 A RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE, OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, ON THE PASSING OF FRANKLIN G. FRENCH, CITY TREASURER OF
2 THE CITY OF VERNON.
3 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
4 WHEREAS, providence has seen fit to terminate the mor-
5 tal career of our friend and colleague, Franklin G. French, hav-
6 ing passed into Rest on the 25th day of August, 1950, and
7 WHEREAS, by this transition, the City of Vernon has
8 lost a valuable and conscientious servant and citizen, whose
9 sterling worth and genial disposition endeared him to those who
10 knew him best, and
11 WHEREAS, his connection with the City of Varnon as
12 City Treasurer thereof, from February, 1925, to the time of his
13 demise, has left an ineffaceable imprint upon many activities
14 of the City of vernon and the City Government thereof, and
15 WHEREAS, each member of the City council feels deeply
16 the loss thus sustained,
17 BE I T REMEMBERED:
18 "Say not that death should be dreaded,
19 'Tis but the beginning of life."
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

Section 1. That this Resolution be adopted by the
22 City Council in regular session, and a copy thereof be spread
23 upon the Minutes of this Meeting, and a copy of said Resolution
24 be forwarded to the bereaved family of Franklin G. French.

Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed
to certify to the passage of this Resolution.
