A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL O.ft' THE CITY OF VERNON AWARDING
TO LAYNE & BOWLER CORPORATION THE CONTRACT FOR THE FURNISHING
AND DELIVERY TO THE CITY OF VERNON OF PUMPING EQUIP~lENT FOR
V'JELL NO.9.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE Clln OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEP~AS, the City has heretofore publicly advertised
for bids for the furnishing and delivery to the City of Vernon
of pumping equipment for Wel1 No. 9 in said City, and
WHEREAS, Layne & Bowler corporation has filed a bid
for the completion of said work at a net cost to the City of
$12,649.26, including sales tax,
NOW, THEREFOHE, BE IT -RESOLVED:
section 1. That all bids heretofore received for the
furnishing and delivery of pumping equipment for Well No. 9 in
response to a notice inviting bids issued October 3, 1950, be
and the same are hereby rejected with the exception of the bid
of Layne & Bowler corporation, and that Layne & Bowler Corpora-
tion be awarded the contract at the net price named in their
bid, to wit: $12,649.26, including sales tax.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby instructed and
empowered to return all checks to unsuccessful bidders.
Section 3. That the City Attorney of the City of
Vernon be authorized to draw a contract to conform to the bid
of said contractor.
section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shal1 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and efrect.
