NOW, 'fHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council
of the Cit.y of Vernon, as follows:
1. Taat the public interest and necessity require the
.acquisition of easements and rights of 'Way OVei\ all of said'real
pr01>erties abut.1iing on the west'e.:elY side of DOlmEY ROAD within
the territorial ,limits of the City of Vernon for the widening
and improving of said DOWNEY ROAD wi thin said territorial l1m1 ts
of the City of Vernon" and tnat it is necessary to acquire said
ea~em.ents by eminent domain proceeding.s.
2. That the consent of the City Council of the City of
Vernon is hereby given to the COlmQ: of Los Angeles, authw..zing
said County to commence domain proceedings in the name of said
County for the acquisition of all necessary easements and rights
of way over all of said pieces or parcels of ~and lying within
the territorial limits of the City of Vernon and abutting on
DOWNEY ROAD for the widening and imp~vil1gof said DOWNEY ROAD
within said City, and authorizing the exercise of exclusive
Jurisdiction by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles over all proceedings necessary thereto for said purpose,
all in accordance with the eminent domain provisions of the Code
of Civil Procedure of the state of California.

3. That the Clerk of this City Council is hereby directed
to certify and deliver two copies of this resolution to the
Clerk of said Board
