RESOLUTION NO. l534
1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZ-
ING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
2 WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
3 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
4 THAT WHEREAS, the city Council determines that it is
5 for the best interests of said city that the motor vehicle fuel
6 tax distributed for expendi tures in the City of Vernon be kept
7 on deposit with the Department of Public Works of the state of
8 california.,
9 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED:
Section 1. That the city enter into an accumulation
agreement with said Department covering the 1952 fiscal year
in terms and figures as follows, to wit:
"ACCUMULATION AGREEMENT - 1952 FISCAL YEAR
"MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT entered into by and be-
tween the city of vernon, hereinafter referred to as
the city, and the Department of public works of the
State of california, hereinafter referred to as the
department,
"WITNES~ETH, THAT, ~mEREAS, in accordance with the
provisions of section 194 of the streets and Highways
code, the department shall expend or cause to be expen-
ded within the cities of this state the amount trans-
ferred to the" state Highway Fund in accordance with sec-
tion 2107 for expenditure upon major city streets in the
proportion that the total population of each city bears
to the total population of all cities in this State; and
"WHEREAS, under the provisions of section 200 of
the Streets and Highways Code the city desires to au...
thorize the accumulation of funds accruing to said city
during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1952;
"NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed that the de-

1 partment will accumulate and hold for future expenditure
2 within the city, or until such time as the city submits
3 a budget in accordance with the provisions of Section 197
4 of the Streets and Highways Code, all funds accruing from
5 the gas tax allocation to cities during the fiscal year
6 ending June 30, 1952;
