A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON OON-
FORMING TO NATIONAL POLICY ON HOLIDAYS FOR DECEMBER 22nd,
24th, 29th and 31st, 1951.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, the Saturday and Monday before Christmas,
1951 and the Saturday and Monday before New Year's Day of 1952

are set aside as holidays for many government and municipal

employees; and

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to let as many
11
employees as possible, consistent with the needs of said City,
12
have each day aforesaid as a holiday; and
13
WHEREAS, the granting of said holidays is in conform-
14
15
ance with the National and Municipal policy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

Section 1. That all employees of the City of Vernon,
where practicable, be given the Saturday and Monday before
Christmas, or December 22nd and 24th, 1951, and the Saturday and
Monday before New Years, 1952, or December 29th and 31st, 1951,

as holidays, and that those employees who, because of the neces-
sity of City business work on said Saturdays or Mondays, or either

of them, are to be given an additional day, or days, holiday to
compensate for the holidays above described at such time as the
Heads of their respective departments are able to make such
24

arrangements.
Section 2. The Oity Olerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
