3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DIRECTING MAINTENANCE AND PESrr CONTROL OF THE OLD CITY HALL
4 PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3715 IRVING STREET, VERNON, CALIFORNIA.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE OITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, the property commonly known as the old City
7 Hall property located at 3715 Irving Street, Vernon, California
8 is in need of maintenance attention; and
9 WHEREAS, at the direction of the City Council the
10 question of maintenance was referred to the City Engineer of
11 the City of Vernon for his report; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Engineer reported to the City Council
13 of the City of Vernon on the 6th day of November, 1951 and
14 recommended as follows:

1. That the premises be cleaned by City forces each
month.
2. That the chicken sheds which have been constructed
between the oJd City Hall building and the building of Troy
Industrial Products be removed to eliminate an unsanitary con-

dition and fire hazard.

3. That the offer of Paramount Pest Oontrol Service,
as hereinafter set forth, for rat control be accepted for one
year at a cost of $56.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1.
That the City Engineer of the City of
Vernon be, and he is hereby instructed and directed, to use the
facilities of the Engineering Department to put into effect
recommendations 1 and 2 as set out above.
Section 2.
That the City of Vernon, through its
officers the Mayor and the City Olerk, enter into a contract for
a period of one year, and for such extension thereof as the Council

deems necessary, with the Paramount Pest Control Service, of
.
1 2300 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles 4, California, to do the
2 following work at the prices herein enumerated, subject to the
3 Paramount Pest Control Service furnishing the City of Vernon
4 with a certificate of insurance from the Insurance Carrier of
5 the Paramount Pest Control Service, showing that the City of
6 Vernon is insured in the sum of $100,000.00 covering all per-
7 sonal liability and property damage resulting from the perform-
8 ance of the work hereinafter specified by the said Paramount
9 Pest Control Service. That the terms of said contract are to
10 be in substance, as follows:
11 The first initial treatment, which includes placing
12 of bait boxes where deemed necessary for the control of
13 rats (and protection of pets) and a follow up in a few days,
14 for the sum of Twelve Dollars ($12.00). At a later date,
15 1/4 inch mesh wire screen to be placed on a few open vents
16 at ground level as required, to exclude rats as much as
17 possible. After the first initial treatment or first
18 month's service, once a month service to be rendered at a
19 cost of Four Dollars ($4.00) per month.

Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution
and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
