A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNOIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING
MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT BET~IEEN SAID CITY AND VARIOUS OTHER CITIES
AND COUNTY TERRI'I'ORY IN THE 9TH REGIONAL DISTRICT OF THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, CIVIL DEFENSE REGION.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, legal authorization has been granted by legis-
lative enactment (Chapter 323, Statutes of 1941, and Chapter 1,
Statutes or 1942) Whereby the City of Vernon may cooperate with

other political entities when an emergency exists:

NOW, THE'REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 323, Statutes
of 1941 and Ohapter 1, Statutes or 1942, the Fire Chief or the

City of Vernon, or in his absence or inability to act then his
authorized representative, be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to use the equipment and personnel of the Department,
or the personnel of the City of Vernon Fire Department under his

supervision or control, or such part thereof, as and when he
may deem it necessary or advisable, for the purpose of cooperat-
19
20
ing with the Fire Departments or the following cities:
Huntington Park, South Gate, Bell, Whittier, Lynwood, Montebello,
Compton, Maywood, and the unincorporated territory of Los Angeles
21

County, or the Fire Departments of any neighboring city or county
within the 9th Regional District of the St~te or California,
Civil Defense Region.
The City Olerk shall certiry to the passage of this

resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in
ru11 force and effect.
