A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON REGULAT-
3 ING VACATIONS WHERE EMPLOYEES' DUTIES PREVENT THEM FROM TAKING
REGULAR LEGAL HOLIDAYS.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT WHEREAS, the duties of various employees of the
Police, Fire and Water Departments of the City of Vernon prevent
them from leaving their duties on regular J.egal holidays; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires
that said employees shall not be deprived of the time off which
the regular holidays would afford said employees;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

Section 1. That the Administrative Heads of the Police,
Fire and Water Departments of the City of Vernon may allow a
three weeks paid annual vacation to all employees of their
respective departments whose duties are such that they do not

have or receive the time off benefits of regular legal holidays.
Section 2. The vacation periods may be arranged by
the Administrative Head of each Department to be taken by said
employee or employees at any time during tne calendar year that
is satisfactory to the Department Administrative Officer and
approved by the City Council.
Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution
and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force

The undersigned department heads of tm
Police, Fire and Water ' departments of the City
of Vernon hereby request authority from the Oity
Council to allow a three weeks' paid annual vacation
to all employees of said departments whose duties
are such that they do not have or receive the benefit
of regular legal hOlidays.
Authority is further requested to begin
the above-mentioned three weeks' paid annual vaca-
tions as of February 1, 1952, in order that all
employees involved will be able to have the full
benefit requested.
