RESOLUTION No. 1589
A RESOLUTION OF THE OITY COUNOIL OF THE OITY OF VERNON DECLARING
3 THE RESULTS OF A REGULAR fJIUNIOIPAL ELECTION HELD APRIL 8, 1952.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

6 WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held in the
7 City of Vernon on Tuesday, April 8, 1952, for the purpose of
8 electing two (2) members of the City Council for the full term
9 of four (4) years; a City Clerk for the full term of four (4)
10 years, and a City Treasurer for the full term of four (4) years;
11 and
12
WHEREAS, it appearing that said election was held and
13 conducted in accordance with the General Election Laws of the
14 State of California, as far as same were applicable; that the

City Council gave such notice of said election as prescribed by
law and appointed a Board of Election, fixed their compensation,
established an election precinct and polling place, and that said
election was held and conducted and votes cast thereat were re-
ceived and canvassed and the returns thereon were made in the

time, fOYill and manner required by law; and
22
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Oity of Vernon did
meet at their usual place of meeting on April 15, 1952, being
23
the first Tuesday after the said general municipal election, and
24
that at said meeting the said City Council canvassed the votes
25
cast at said general municipal election. Whereupon it was found
that the total number of votes cast in said city was seventy-four
(7~); that the number of precincts used in said election is
one (1).
That the names of the persons voted for, for members
of the City Council for the full term of four (4) years, and the
number of votes given to each person is as follows:

15 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND
16 DECLARED by the City Council of the City of Vernon that at a
17 general municipal election, held in said City on April 8, 1952,
18 the persons elected to the respective offices for the terms
19 stated, and until their successors are duly elected and qualified
20 are as fo llows :
21 Robert J. Furlong, as Councilman of the Oity of Vernon
for the full term of four years;

Charles H. Mailliard, as Councilman of the Oity of Vernon
for the full term of four years;
24
Gilbert A. Anderson, as City Clerk of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years; and
25
V. R. Poxon, as City Treasurer of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years.
That the City Olerk of the City of Vernon shall im-

mediately sign and deliver to each person elected a certificate
of election, and administer to each person elected the oath of
office prescribed by the State Oonstitution.
That said oath shall be subscribed by the officers
so elected, and when so subscribed the same shall be filed with

the City Clerk o~ the City of Vernon.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the

passage o~ this resolution and, thereupon, the same shall be

in full force and effect.
