RESOLUTION No. 1628
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
3 ONE DEEP WELL TURBINE PUlvlPING UNIT FURNISHED BY JOHNSTON PUMP
COMPANY FOR WELL NO. 11 IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 167
4 OF THE CITY OF VERNON, AND AUTHORIZING PAYNENT THEREFOR.
5 THE CITY COUNC IL OF THE CITY OF VERNOlf DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon did

7 heretofore 'enter into a contract dated August 6, 1952 with
8 Johnston Pump Company for one new deep well turbine pumping unit
9 and accessory equipment for Water Well No. 11 of the City of
10 Vernon in accordance with Specifications No. 167 of said City; and
11 WHEREAS, the Johnston Pump Company has completed the
12 work and furnished the material in accordance with the aforesaid
13 contract; and
14 WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Vernon did
15 examine the equipment and recommends that it be accepted by the
16 City of Vernon;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

Section 1:
That the furnishing and delivery to the

City of Vernon of one deep well turbine pumping unit and acces-
sory equipment specified in the aforementioned contract in
accordance with Specifications No. 167 of said City be, and the
same is hereby accepted as completed in accordance with the terms
of the aforesaid contract.
Section 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves and directs the payment of One Thousand Four
Hundred Ninety-nine Dollars ($1,499.00) plus State sales tax of
Forty-four and 97/100 Dollars ($44.97), or a total of One Thousand
Five Hundred Forty-three & 97/100 Dollars ($1,543.97) to Johnston
Pump Company for the furnishing of said deep well turbine pumping
unit and accessory equipment.
Section 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is

1 hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolution
2 and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force
3 and effect.
