A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
THE RESURFACING OF FRUITLAND AVENUE FROM PACIFIC BOULEVARD TO
DOWNEY ROAD IN THE CITY OF VERNON IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICA-
TIONS NO. 165 AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT THEREFOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon did
heretofore enter into a contract dated June 17, 1952 with the
Vernon Paving Company for the resurfacing of Fruitland Avenue
with premix rock and oil from Pacific Boulevard to Downey Road,
in accordance with Specifications No. 165; and
WHEREAS, the Vernon Paving Company has completed the
work and furnished the material in accordance with the aforesaid

contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Vernon did
examine the work done and recommends that it be accepted by the
City of Vernon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1:
That the resurfacing of Fruitland Avenue

from Pacific Boulevard to Downey Road in the City of Vernon in
accordance with Specifications No. 165 of saidCity be, and the

same is hereby accepted as completed in accordance with the terms
of the aforesaid contract.

Section 2:
That there is due under said contract the

sum of Eight Thousand Two Hundred and 43/100 Dollars, 90% of
25
which is due upon the completion and acceptance of the work and
10% of which is due 35 days thereafter.
Section 3:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves and directs the payment of 90% of the contract
price, to wit: the sum of Seven Thousand Three Hundred Eighty &
39/100 Dollars ($7380.39) to the Vernon Paving Company as of this

date, and the balance of said contract price as found above be
paid 35 days after the effective date of this Resolution accepting

Section 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
4 after the same shall be in full force and effect.
