Z ... <( 0 _ t- U ~ ~ 31 :t .,. . 1 RESOLUTION NO. 1650 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON FINDING A PORTION OF DOWNEY ROAD IN THE CITY OF VERNON IS UNNECESSARY FOR 3 THE PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES AND ORDERING ITS VACATION AND ABANDONMENT AND RESERVING EASEMENTS THEREIN. 4 5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 6 THAT, WHEREAS, the City Couneil of the City of Vernon did on the 6th day of January, 1953, pass its Ordinance of Intention No.653 declaring its intention to vacate and abandon a 7 8 portion of tha.t certain public street in the City of Vernon known 9 10 I as Downey Road, which said portion is hereinafter fully described; and 11 12 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon did in Ordinance No.653 reserve permanent easements set forth in said Ordinance of Intention and hereinafter fully set forth; and WH~REAS, the City Council in said Ordinance of Intention No.653, did fix the time for hearing all persons 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandon- ment as February 3, 1953 at 2:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Vernon, 4305 Santa Fe 20 Avenue, Vernon, California; and 21 WHEREAS, notices of said hearing and of the proposed street vacation were posted in .the manner a.nd form required by 22 23 law; and 24 WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Vernon did hold said hearing on February 3, 1953, at 2:00 olclock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, 25 Vernon, California, and no one appearing to object to said 32 vacation and the Council being fully advised .in the matter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Vernon 4 does hereby make the following order, to wit: That all that 5 portion of Downey Road in the City of Vernon, described as 6 f'ollows: 7 Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 2, Tract No. 9208, as per map recorded in Book 185, pages 42 and 43, of' Maps, Records of said County; said point of' beginning being the intersection of the easterly line of' said Lot 2 with the southerly boundary of the City of Los Angeles established August 29, 1859 as shown on said map of Tract No. 9208, said easterly line of Lot 2 being also the west- erly line of Downey Road and said southerly boundary of the City of Los Angeles being also the northerly boundary of the City of Vernon; said point of beginning being in a curve concave to the northeast, having a radius of 458.35 feet, a radial line through said point of beginning bears N. 840 57' 24" E; Thence southeasterly along said curve sixty-nine and seventeen hundredths (69.17) feet to a point in the west- erly line of Downey Road, a radial line through said last mentioned point on curve bears N. 760 18' 38" E; said last mentioned westerly line of Downey Road being thirty-three (33) feet westerly of' and parallel with the westerly boundary of the City of Los Angeles established January 3, 1925 as shown on said map of Tract No. 9208; and said last mentioned westerly boundary of the City of Los Angeles being also the easterly boundary of' the City of Vernon; Thence N. 250 2.)' 55" W. seventy-five and f'orty-f'our hundredths (75.44) feet along said last mentioned westerly line of Downey Road to its intersection with the northerly boundary of the City of Vernon; said northerly boundary of' the City of Vernon being also the said southerly boundary of the City of Los Angeles and the southerly line of said Lot 2 as shown on said map of Tract No. 9208; Thence N. 890 54' 30" E. twenty-one and eleven hun- dredths (21.11) feet, along the said northerly boundary of the City of Vernon to the point of beginning. 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned f'or public street purposes, as contemplated by Ordinance of' Intention No. 653 of' the City of' Vernon, approved January 6, 1953. Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall 9 cause a certified copy of this Resolution, under the seal of the 10 City, to be recorded in the Office of County Recorder of Los 11 Angeles County, California, being the county in Which the said 12 City of Vernon is located. 13 Section 5.
