RESOLUTION NO. 1651
A RESOLUT!ON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON EMPLOYING
3 GUTHRIE, DARLING & SHATTUCK AS SPECIAL COUNSEL.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

THAT, WHEREAS, an application number 33952 was filed
on or about December 16, 1952 by the Southern California Edison
Company before the Public Utilities Commission of the State of
California reqlesting an increase of rates charged by Applicant
for electric service in the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has a contract with the
Southern California Edison Company fixing the rates to be charged
by the Southern California Edison Company for electric service
in the City of Vernon, ~ich contract was approved by the Public
Utilities Commission of the State of California in its decision

No. 29749; and

WHEREAS, the Southern California Edison Company in said

application requests authority to increase rates charged for
electric service in the City of Vernon; and

WHEREAS, the City Oouncil deems it advisable and for
the best interest of the City of Vernon that Special Counsel be
employed to assist the City Attorney in presenting the opposition
of the City of Vernon to the granting of the requests of the

Edison Company's application above referred to;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1:
That the firm of Guthrie" Darling &

Shattuck, attorneys-at-law, be and they are hereby employed as
Special Counsel in prosecuting the cause of the City of Vernon,
on behalf of said City, with reference to the application of the
Southern California Edison Company pending before the Public
Utilities Commission of the State of California, being applica-
tion No. 33952.

Section 2:
