A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF A PETITION IN INTERVENTION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
OF VERNON TO APPLICATION OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY
NO. 33952 FOR AN INCREASE IN RATES FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE IN THE
CITY OF VERNON.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

8 THAT, WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has employed the
9 firm of Guthrie, Darling & Shattuck as special counsel to repre-
10 sent the City of Vernon in resisting the application of the
11 Southern California Edison Company, No. 33952, for increase in
12 rates for electric service in the City of Vernon; and
13 WHEREAS, said attorneys have prepared a Petition in
14 Intervention to the above referred to application for increase
15 of rates; and
16 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon be-
17 lieves it is to the best interest of the City of Vernon that
18 said petition be filed with the Public Utilities Commission of
19 the State of California;
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

That R. J. Furlong, Mayor of the City of

Vernon be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and verify said petition of the City of Vernon for leave to
intervene and become a party in proceedings entitled "In the
matter of the application of the Southern California Edison
Company for an order of the Public Utilities Commission of the
State of California authorizing Applicant to increase rates
charged by it for electric serviceD, being Application No.
33952 now pending before said Commission.

hereby directed to certify to the passage of this resolu~ion
