RESOLUTION No. 1654

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AWARDING
3 CONTRACT FOR THE INSTALLING OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 168 AND PLANS NOS. B12B-1146,
4 B12B-1147, and B12B-1148 TO ELECTRIC AND MACHINERY SERVICE, INC.
AND REJECT ING ALL OTHER BIDS.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT WHEREAS, on the 17th day of February, 1953, at

2:00 o'clock P.M., sealed bids were opened for the furnishing and
installing of traffic control signals at the intersections of
Santa Fe Avenue and 55th Street, Pacific Boulevard and Fruitland

Avenue, and Slauson Avenue and Alcoa Avenue, in the City of Vernon,
in accordance with specifications No. 168 and Plans Nos. B12B-1146,

B12B-1147 and B12B-1148, and

WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Walter B. Hollingworth,
City Engineer, for checking, and
WHEREAS, Specifications No. 168 and Plans B12B-1146,
B12B-1147 and B12B,1148 were heretofore approved by the City of
Vernon by Resolution No. 1643, and
WHEREAS, Walter B. Hollingworth, City Engineer, has
reported to the City Council under date of February 28, 1953,
advising that the bid of Electric and Machinery Service, Inc. in
the net sum of $10,552.00 is the lowest bid for said work and

materials,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby authorize the execution of a contract as set forth
in said Specifications No. 168 with Electric and Machinery
Service, Inc. for the doing of the work and furnishing of the
materials as set forth in Specifications No. 168 and Plans Nos.
B12B-1146, B12B-1147 and B12B-1148.
