RESOLUTION NO. 1660

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING
3 THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
6 THAT WHEREAS, the City Council determines that it is
7 for the best interests of said City that the motor vehicle fuel
8 tax distributed for expenditures in the City of Vernon be kept on
9 deposit with the Department of Public Works of the State of
10 California,
11 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED:

Section 1:
That the City enter into an accumulation
agreement with said Department of Public Works covering the 1954
fiscal year in terms and figures as follows, to wit:
"ACCUMULATION AGREEMENT - 19.54 FISCAL YEAR
"MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT entered into by and be-
tween the City of Vernon, hereinafter referred to as
the City, and the Department of Public Works of the
State of California, hereinafter referred to as the
department,
"WITNESSETH, THAT, WHEREAS, in accordance with the
provisions of Section 194 of the Streets and Highways
Code, the department shall expend or cause to be expended
within the cities of this State the amount transferred to
the State Highway Fund in accordance with Section 2107
for expenditure upon major city streets in the proportion
that the total population of each city bears to the total
population of all cities in this State; and
"WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 200 of the
Streets and Highways Code the city desires to authorize
the accumulation of funds accruing to said city during
the fiscal year ending June 30, 19.54;

3 diture within the city, or until such time as the city
4 submits a budget in accordance with the provisions of
5 Section 197 of the Streets and Highways Code, all funds
6 accruing from the gas tax allocation to cities during
