A RESOLUTION OF' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON FINDING
A PORTION OF PACIFIC BOULEVARD IN rrHE CITY OF VERNON IS
UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES
AND ORDERING ITS VACATION AND ABANDONMENT.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOL-JS:

THAT,WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
7
did on the 16th day of June, 1953, pass its Ordinance of Inten-
8
tion No. 660 declaring its intention to vacate and abandon a
portion of that certain public street in the City of Vernon
9

officially known, and commonly referred to, as Pacific Boulevard
11
which said portion is hereinafter fully described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council in said Ordinance of Inten-
tion No. 660, did fix the time for hearing all persons 'interested
12

in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment as
July 7, 1953 at 2:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall in the City of Vernon, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
Vernon, California; and
WHEREAS, notices of said hearing and of the proposed
street vacation were posted in the manner and form required by
law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Vernon did
hold said hearing on July 7, 1953 at 2:00 o'clock p.m. in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
Vernon, California, and no one appearing to object to said
vacation and the Council being fully advised in the matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does find and declare from the evidence submitted to the City
Council. that the property described in Ordinance of Intention
No. 660, as hereinafter described, is unnecessary for present
or prospective public street purposes.

Section 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
2 does hereby make the following order, to wit: That all that

portion of Pacific Boulevard in the City of Vernon, described as
follows:

That portion of Pacific Boulevard (East Roadway)
in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as shown on map of Huntington Park Exten-
sion No.1, recorded in Book 8, Page 181, of Maps, in
the office of the Recorder of said County, bounded on
the north by the westerly prolongation of the northerly
line of Lot 3, Block 22, of said Huntington Park Exten-
sion No.1, on the south by the southerly boundary of
the City of Vernon, on the east by the easterly line of
said Pacific Boulevard (East Roadway), said easterly
line of Pacific Boulevard (East Roadway) being also the
westerly line of Lot 3, Block 22, per map of said Hunt-
ington Park Extension No.1, and on the west by a line
parallel with and distant easterly sixty (60) feet,
measured at right angles, from the following described
line:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
52nd Street as shown on map filed in Book 54, Page 18,
of Record of Surveys in said Recorderls office with that
line in said Pacific Boulevard designated as "Center Line
of Street as Occupied" on said Record of Survey map, said
point of intersection being shown as marked by a brass
monument on said map and in Field Book No.7, Page 18, of
the City Engineer of the City of Huntington Park, Cali-
fornia; thence along said line so designated North 00 131
22" West two hundred thirty-one and twenty-nine hundredths
(231.29) feet to its intersection with the center line of
Fruitland Avenue as shown on said map of Record of Surveys
and in Field Book No. 11, Page 12, of said City Engineer
as marked by a lead and tack,

be and the swne is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for
public street purposes, as contemplated by Ordinance of Inten-
tion No. 660 of the City of Vernon, approved June 16, 1953.
Section 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
cause a certified copy of this Resolution, under the seal of the
City, to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Los
Angeles County, California, being the county in which the said
City of Vernon is located.
Section 4:
The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same
