RESOLUTION NO. 1669
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING
THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SPECIFICATIONS NO. 168 AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT THEREFOR.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Oity Councilor theOity of Vernon did
heretofore enter into a contract dated March 3, 1953 with the
Electric and Machinery Service, Inc. for the furnishing, installa-
tion and delivery of traffic control signals in accordance with
Specifications No. 168; and
WHEREAS, the Electric and Machinery Service, Inc. has
completed the work and furnished the materials in accordance
with the aforesaid contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City. of Vernon did
examine the work and recommends that it be accepted by the
City of Vernon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1: That the furnishing, installation and de-
livery of traffic control signals to the City of Vernon in
accordance with 8pecirications No. 168, at the intersections of
Santa Fe Avenue and 55th Street, Pacific Boulevard and Fruitland
Avenue, and Slauson Avenue and Alcoa Avenue, be, and the same
are hereby accepted as completed in accordance with the terms or
the aroresaid contract.
Section 2: That there is due under said contract the
sum of Ten Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-two Dollars ($10,552.00),
90% of which is due upon the completion and acceptance of the
work and 10% of which is due 35 days thereafter.
Section ~: The City Councilor the City of Vernon
hereby approves and directs the payment or 90% of the contract
price, to wit: the sum of Nine Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-six
and 80/100 Dollars ($9,496.80) to the Electric and Machinery

1 Service, Inc."and the balance of said contract price as found
2 above be paid 35 days after the effective date of this Resolution
3 accepting the work.

Section 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
5 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
6 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
