A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON HONORING
3 CHARLES E. KIRK, SR., UPON HIS RETIREMENT, FOR HIS HANY YEARS OF
SERVICE TO THE CITY OF VERNON.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon

wishes to extend their sincere appreciation for the excellent
work, and the loyal and unselfish way Charles E. Kirk, Sr.,
Battalion Chief of the Fire Department, has devoted himself to

the duties of his position and to the best interest of the City
of Vernon; and

WHEREAS, it has been a pleasure to work with one so
cooperative in the performance of the many tasks the City of
Vernon has called upon hL~ to perform in the many years, from
}'larch 25, 1926 to July 1, 1953, he has served in the Fire Depart-
ment of this City; and
~rlEREAS, the City Council at this time of his retire-
ment desire to e.xpress their gratitude;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1:
That we, the City Council of the City of
Vernon, hereby honor Charles E. Kirk, Sr., Battalion Chief of
the Fire Department, and present to him this Resolution as a
token of our heartfelt esteem.
Section 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
after the same shall be in full force and effect.
Adopted and Approved this #thday of August, 1953.
