A RESOLUTION 01<' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING
THE TAKING OF BIDS FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THE FORMER CITY HALL
BUILDING LOCATED AT THE NORlrH.i~EST CORNER OF 38TH AND IRVING STREETS,
IN THE CITY OF VERNON.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE 11.S FULLOWS:

tmEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Vernon has
found that the former City Hall building located an City owned
property at the northwest carner of 38th and Irving Streets, in

the City of Vernon, is in an unsafe condition; and

~YHEREAS, said building is vacant and a cantinued expense
11
for rat control service and minimum maintenance; and

~HEREAS, said building is unsightly and a detriment to
13
the surrounding industrial neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, said building serves and wauld serve no useful
purpose for the Ci ty af Vernon;
NOW, THEHE:F'OHE, BE IT HESOLVED:
Sectian 1:
That the former City Hall building located
on City owned property at the northwest corner of 38th and Irving
Streets, in the City of Vernon, be razed and demolished, in
accordance with the recommendation of the City Engineer;
Section 2: That the City Engineer be, and he is hereby
authorized to. take bids and report them to. the City Council af
the City of Vernon, for the demalition of said building located at
the northwest corner of 38th and Irving Streets, in the City af

Sectian 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to.the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and the re-
