RESOLUTION NO. 1713
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AWARDING
THE CONTRACT FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THE FORMER CITY HALL BUILDING
LOCATED AT 38TH AND IRVING STREETS IN THE CITY OF VERNON.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, in accordance with Resolution No. 1690, the
City Engiaeer of the City of Vernon took bids for the demolition
of the old City Hall building located at the northwest corner or
38th and Irving Streets ia the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer reports to the City Council
under date of November 16, 1953, declaring that the bid of the

Cleveland Wrecking Company, l75~i. Jefrerson Boulevard, Los Angeles,
California, ia the sum or Sixteen Hundred Dollars ($1600.00) for
the doing of said work was the lowest bid received, and recom-
mended awarding the contract to said bidder;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1: That the bid of the Cleveland Wrecking
Company, 175 E. Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles, California be,
and the same is hereby accepted, and the I~yor and City Clerk
of the City of Vernon are authorized to enter into a contract
with said Cleveland Wrecking Company in accordance with the terms
or its bid as set forth in its letter to the City of Vernon
under date or November 17, 1953.

Section 2:
That all other bids be rejected.
The City Clerk of the City or Vernon shall

certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
after the same shall be in full force and erfect.
