RESOLUTION NO. 1721
A RESOLU1rION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DECLARING
PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES TO BE USED FOR THE FURNISHING
AND INSTALLATION OF ONE DEEP VVELL TURBINE PUMP WITH ELECTRIC MOTOR
DRIVING UNIT, AND APPURTENANCES, FOR WATER WELL NO. 13 FOR THE CITY
OF VEID~ON, CALIFORNIA, IN ACCORDANCE \VITH CITY El~GlNEERtS SPECIFICA-
TIONS NO. 177.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The City Council of the City of Vernon has
ascertained and does hereby find and declare that the general

prevailing rate per diem ror wages ror laborers, workmen and mechanics
employed by contractors and subcontractors, for the doing or any
work set forth in Specifications No. 177, Which Specifications were
duly adopted by the City Council on January 5, 1954, in Resolution

The general prevailing rate of the per diem wages, rates
for Legal Holidays, and overtime work, in the locality in which
this work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman
or mechanic needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to

For any craft not included in the above list, the minimum
per diem wages shall be the general prevailing wages for the locality,
and shall be not less than $14.08 per day.
The foregoing schedule of per diem wages is based upon a
working day of eight (8) hours. The hourly wage rate shall be the
per diem rate divided by the aforementioned number of hours consti-
tuting a working day.
Notice is also hereby given that, pursuant to said Labor
Code of California, it shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to

Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
7 certify to the passage of' this Resolution and thereupon and
8 thereafter the same shall be in f'ul1 f'orce and effect.

Adopted and approved at a regular meeting of said Council
10 this 5th day of .January, 1954.
