1734
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AWARDING
CONTRACT TO LAYNE &: BOWLER CORPORATION FOR THE FURNISHING AND
INSTALLATION OF ONE DEEP WELL TURBINE PUMP, WITH ELECTRIC DRIVING
MOTOR AND APPURTENANCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 177
FOR WATER WELL NO. 13 OF THE CITY OF VERNON WATER DEPARTMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of January, 1954, at 2 o'clock
p.m. sealed bids were opened for the furnishing and installation
of one deep well turbine pump, with electric driving motor and
appurtenances in accordance with Specifications No. 177 for Water
Well No. 13 of the City of Vernon Water:..Department; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Walter B. Holling-
worth, City Engineer, for checking; and
WHEREAS, Specifications No. 177 were heretofore approved
by the City of Vernon by Resolution No. 1719; and
WHEREAS, Walter B. Hollingworth, City Engineer, has
reported to the City Council under date of February 15, 1954,
advising that the bid of Layne &: Bowler Corporation in the sum
of $12,296.77, including sales tax, is the lowest best bid for
said work and materials;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
finds that the bid of Layne &: Bowler Corporation is the lowest
best bid received for the furnishing of materials and work to be
performed, and does hereby authorize the execution of a contract
as set forth in Specifications No. 177 with Layne &: Bowler Corpora-
tion for the furnishing of the materials and installation to be
performed in accordance with said Spec ifications No. 177 of said
City.
Section 2:
That all other bids are hereby rejected
and the City Clerk is hereby instructed and empowered to return
