WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
heretofore by appropriate resolution recognized thirty years of
competent, loyal, and unselfish service of Ernest Giles as Chief

WHERE.A.S, the City Council of the City of Vernon recognizes

that the greatest compensation one receives for duty well performed

is the personal satisfaction felt, yet realizing that next to
excellency is the appreciation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby extend8.~ to Ernest Giles , retiring Chief of Police of this
city, its sincere appreciation for his service capably, faithfully,
and sincez;>e1y performed wishes him for the future the blessing
naturally flowing from a well spent life.
