RESOLUTION NO. 1748
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DECLARING
3 THE RESULTS OF ,A REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD APRIL 13, 1954.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

6 WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held in
7 the City of Vernon on Tuesday, April 13, 1954, for the purpose
8 of electing three (3) members of the City Council for the full
9 term of four (4) years; and
10 WHEREAS, it appearing that said election was held and
11 oonducted in accordance with the General Election Laws of the
12 State of California, as far as same were applicable; that the

City Council gave such notice of said election as is prescribed
by law and appointed a Board of Election, fixed their compensa-
tion, established an election precinct and polling place, and
that said election was held and conducted and votes cast thereat
were received and canvassed and the returns thereon were made
in the time, form and manner required by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon did
meet at their usual place of meeting on April 20, 1954, being
the first Tuesday after the said general municipal election,
and that at said meeting the said City Council canvassed the
votes cast at said general municipal election.
Whereupon it
was found that the total number of votes cast in said city was
fifty-four (54); that the number of precincts used in said
election is one (I);
That the names of the persons voted for, for members

the number of votes given to each person is as follows:

4 NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED
5 AND DECLARED by the City Council of the City of Vernon that at
6 a general municipal election, held in said City on April 13,
7 1954, the persons elected to the respective offices for the terms
8 stated, and until their successors are duly el~cted and qualified
9 are as follows:
10 Genevieve Anderson, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four yea~s;

Judith M. Poxon, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years;
Charles W. Trowbridge, as Councilman of the City of Vernon
for the full term of four years;
That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon' shall
immediately sign and deliver to each person elected a certifi-
cate of election, and administer to each person elected the oath
of office prescribed by the State Constitution.
That said oath shall be subscribed by the officers so
elected, and when so subscribed the same shall be filed with the
City Clerk of the City of Vernon.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify to the
passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 20th day of April, 1954.

I, G. A. ANDERSON, City Clerk of the City of Vernon,
do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 1748 was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Vernon, and
approved by the Mayor of said City, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 20th day of April, 1954.
