A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~qE CITY OF VERNON AWARD-
ING CONTRACT TO C. O. SPARKS, INC. AND HUNDO ENGINEERING GO.
(JOINT VENTURE OF CALIFORNIA CORPORATIONS) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVE~illNT RESURFACING AND APPURTENANCES IN
38TH STREET FROI'1 SANTA FE AVENUE TO ALAIJIEDA STREET IN ACCORDANCE
WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 178 AND CITY ENGINEER'S DRAWING, PLAN
NO. A3-1292, OF SAID CITY.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT WHEREAS, on the 1st day of June, 1954, at2

o'clock p.m. sealed bids were opened for the construction of
asphalt concrete pavement resurfacing and appurtenances in 38th
Street from Santa Fe Avenue to Alameda Street, in accordance
with Specifications No. 178 and City Engineer's Drawing, Plan
No. A3-l292; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Walter B. Ho11ing-
worth, City Engineer, for checking; and
WHEREAS, Specifications No. 178 were heretofore
approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon by Resolution
No. 1740; and
WHEREAS, Walter B. Hollingworth, City Engineer, reports
to the City Council under date of June 7, 1954, advising that
the bid of C. O. Sparks, Inc. and Mundo Engineering Co. (Joint
Venture of California Corporations) in the net sum of $29,882.85
is the lowest bid for said work and material;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1:
That the City Council of the City of
Vernon does hereby authorize the execution of a contract as set
forth in Specifications No. 178 with C. O. Sparks, Inc. and
I~do Engineering Co., (Joint Venture of California Corporations),
for the doing of the work, and furnishing of the materials as set
forth in Specifications No. 178 and City Engineer's Drawing,
Plan No. A3-l292 as above set forth.

Section 2:
That all other bids are rejected, and
2 the City Clerk is hereby instructed and empowered to return all
3 checks to unsuccessful bidders;
4
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
Section 3:
5 certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and
6 thereafter the same shall be in full force and erfect.
7 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 15th day of June, 1954.
