A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING
THE ISSUANCE OF AN EXTfu\ WORK ORDER TO CONSOLIDATED WESTERN STEEL
DIVISION, UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORA'fION, FOR THE FURNISHING AND
INSTALLATION OF ONE ADDITIONAL 24 INCH DIAMETER CLEANOUT 1.1ANHOLE

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, under date of December 1, 1953 the City of
Vernon entered into a Contract with Oonso1idated Western Steel
Division, United States Steel Corporation for the furnishing and
delivery complete in place of five welded steel water storage
reservoirs; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Vernon has
recommended to the City Council, under date of June 25, 1954,
that one additional 24 inch diameter c1eanout manhole be installed
on each tank furnished by the Consolidated Western Steel Division,
United States Steel Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the cost for said extra work is the sum of
three hundred twenty-five dollars ($325.00) for each manhole,
or a total of sixteen hundred and twenty-five dollars ($1625.00)
for the five manholes;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
Section 1: That the City Engineer be, and he is hereby
authorized to enter into a letter agreement with Consolidated
Western Steel Division, United States Steel Corporation, for the
installation of one additional 24 inch diameter cleanout manhole
with flanged cover on each of the five welded steel water storage
reserVOirs, at locations to be designated by said City Engineer,
to be identical with the manholes furnished under the contract
dated December 1, 1954, said contract work being done under
Specifications No. 171 of the City of Vernon. That the cost of

1 said additional five manholes shall not exceed the sum of sixteen
2 hundred twenty-five dollars ($1625.00).

Section 2:
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
4 of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall
5 be in full force and effect.
6 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 6th day of July, 1954.
