A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
APPOINTING A. W. PHIl..LIPS~ CITY ENG:IN.EER OF THE CITY OF
VERNON~ AND APpOINTING R. H. KING" SANITARY ENGINEER AND
SUPERINTENDENT OF WATER DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF
VERNON~ EFFECTIVE AS OF OCTOBER 1, 1954.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, the office of City Engin~er of the City of Vernon
has heen va.cant. since the death of Walter B. Hollingworth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has,. by ResolutlonNo. 1783~

created a new office to he known as Sanita.ry Engineer and Superintendent
of Water Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
appoint .a. City Engineer, and also appoint a Sanitary Engineer and
Superintendent of the Water Department;
NOW" THEREFORE" BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1: That the office of Associate Engineer and the office of
17 Sanitation Engineer of the City of Vernon are hereby declared vacant.
That A. W. Phillips is hereby appointed to the

SECTION 2:
19 office of City Engineer of the City of Vernon effective as of October 1.. 1954;

SECTION 3:
That R. H. King is: hereby appointed Sanitary
21 Engineer and Superintendent of Water Department of the City of Vernon
22 effective as of October 1,. 1954.

S.ECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to certify to the passage of this Res.olution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 5th day of October,. 1954.
