Re: Proposed salary resolution changes
To the Honorable City Council:
The City Engineer has requested the following amendments to
the salary resolution:
1. Elimination of the present grade of "Assistant Sanitation
Engineer" and, in lieu thereof, insertion of the follow-
ing:
"Assistant Sanitary Engineer,
Grade 1 - Monthly salary . . .
Assistant Sanitary Engineer,
Grade 2
Assistant Sanitary Engineer,
Grade 3
. .
. . $520.;'

It is my understanding that the purpose of this arrange-
ment is to make better use of available personnel and to
create a salary step plan to provide incentive by way of
promotion to the sanitary engineers in the Department.
2. Addition of the classification "Operator, Street Sweeper"
at the rate of $17 per day, in anticipation of the/possible
acquisition of such equipment.
