RESOLUTION NO. 1859
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING AN EASEMENT GRANT FROM CHARLES M.RING AND
BEULAH A. KING~ TO A PORTION OF BANDINI BOULEVARD IN THE
CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, CharlesM. King .and Beulah A. King. husband
and wife. have granted to the City of Vernon an easement across a parcel
of land being the northerly fifty (50) feet of westerly twenty (20) feet of
Lot 9, Jno R. T.aylor's Vernon Avenue Villa Lots, for construction.
reconstruction. maintenance and operation of water mains", fire hydrants,
services, meters" meter boxes and appurtenances; and
WHEREAS", said description ha.s been checked by A. W.
Phillips, City Engineer of the City of Vernon, and he has recommended
that said easement be accepted; and
WHEREAS, said easement has been approved as to form
by Carson B. Hubb.ard. City Attorney of the City of Vernon;
NOW~ THEREFORE1 BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby accepts the aforesaid Easement Grant from CharlesM. King
and Beulah A. King, together with the property conveyed thereby. and
directs the recording of said Deed with the County Recorder of Los
Angeles County, California.
SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the pa.ssageof this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 20th day of.September, 1955.

DESCRIPTION
The north 50 feet of 10t 8 and the north 50 feet of the west 20
b~:feet of 10t 9 of Jno. R. Taylor's Vernon Avenue Villa lots,
in the city of Vernon, county of Los Angeles, state of California,
as per map recorded in book 4 page 42 of Maps, in the office of
the county recorder of said county.
EXCEPTING from said portion of 10t 9 the ownership of and right
to extract all minerals, petroleum, gas and other hydrocarbon
substances existing in and under the property hereinbefore
described, together with the right to drill slantwise or
directional1yunder the said property; provided, however, that
the seller shall have no right of entry upon the surface thereof.
All operations for the exploration, drilling, extraction and/or
removal of such mineral substances shall be from sites on
lands other than on the property hereinbefore described; as
reserved by Adelina F. Leonis, Leonis Clos Malburg and John A.
Lifur, as executors of the lat will of John B. Leonis, deceased,
in deed recorded March 3, 1955.
EXCEPTIONS:
1. General and special county and city taxes for the fiscal
year 1955-1956, a lien not yet payable.

said land for the common use and benefit of the owners of

lots 6 and 7, east half of lot 8 and lots 9 to 17 inclusive,
subject to right of the Los Angeles County Flood Control
District, to enter thereon, for the purpose of maintenance and
repair of same, as provided in a mutual agreement between
Frea C. Purrucker, et al., recorded in book 7324 page 281
of Deeds.
4. An easement affecting a portion of lot 8 for a pipe line
and incidental purposes, described as fol10ws:
Beginning on the east line of said 10t 8, 5 feet south of the
northeast corner thereof; thence westerly and parallel with
the north line of said lot 8, 137.50 feet, more or less;
thence northerly at right angles 5.00 feet to the northerly
line of said lot 8;
as granted to General Petroleum Corporation, a corporation,
by deed recorded February 13, 1952 in book 38241 page 417,
