RESOLUTION NO. 1872
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
FIXING THE TIM.E AND PLACE OF HEARING AND PRESCRIBING
NOTICE TO BE GIVEN.. AND DECLARING A NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL
CIRCULATION WITHIN THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the Los Angeles Daily Journal is a daily newspaper of
general circulation within the City of Vernon.
That the notice of hearing on the petition for variance of
JOHN B. LEONIS., JR. be noticed by publication for three days prior to
the date upon which said petition is set for hearing. and within the week
within which said hearing is to be held.
That the 9th day of
March
. 1956. at the hour of

A m.. in the Council Chambers of the City Council in
o'clock
the City HaU. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue. in the City of Vernon. is
the time fixed for the hearing on said petition for a variance.
That the name of the applicant is JOHN B. LEONIS... JR.; that
the address of applicant is 2400 Chiselhurst Drive. Los Angeles 27.
California.
That the legal description of the property for which the variance
is requested is as follows:
Lot 16 of the John R. Taylor Vernon Avenue Villa Lots.
in the City of Vernon. County of Los Angeles. State of
California. except that portion thereof embraced within
the area described as follows:
Commencing at the southeasterly corner of the said Lot
16 and continuing north along the easterly boundary line
thereof a distance of 195 ft; thence in a straight line
West parallel to the southerly boundaryof said lot a dis-
tance of 180 ft..; thence south in a straight line parallel
to the easterly boundary of said lot a distance of 195 ft. ;
thence east along the southerly boundary of said lot. to
the point of begi nning.
Said parcel of land is situated in the area bounded on the North
by 26th Street. on the West by Soto Street. on the East by Downey Road and
on the South by the Los Angeles River.
A public hearing on the above matter will be held before the
City Council of the City of Vernon on the 9th
day of
March

3 California. at which time anyone interested will be heard.
4 The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the
5 passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be
6 in full force and effect.
