THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS. inveliUpUoncliaeloses tha~.. traffic ha~a.rd eXists on the East Side of Alcoa Avenue beginning at a point 50 feet. south of t.he south curb Uneof YeruonAvenueand continuing for a d.1lita.nce of 192 feet southerly therefrom I and for the safety.and convenience of the public it is desirable that a. 30 minute parking limit beestabUahed at said location; NOW6 THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon hereby establishes. a 30 minute parking limit along the East .Side of Alcoa Avenue beginning at a point 50 feet south of the south curb line of Vernon Avenue and continuing for a distance of 192 feet southerly therefrom. SECTION 2: That the area described in Section 1 hereof shall be painted or posted as required by Ordinance No. 642.of the City of Vernon;, and amendments thereto. SECTION 3: The City.Clerk of the City. of YernonahalI certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereafter and thereupon the same shall be in full force. and effect. TROWBRIDGE R.H.BocKHACKER ~POLICE CHIE:F BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS FRED HURLEY SECRETARY POLICE HEADQUARTERS 4:305 SANTA FE AVENUE PHONE JEFFERSON 5287-88 February 14, 1956 Honorable City Council City of Vernon, California Your Honorable Body: Reference is made to a letter addressed to Your Honorable Body dated January 12, 1956 from the Mindel & Co. and signed by Mr. Najor Mindel, in which he requested a 30 minute parking area on the east side of Alcoa in front of businesses located from 4326 to 4336 inclusive. Investigation discloses that Mr. Mindel owns said property and has expressed his willingness to pay for the cost of posting signs. Investigation further discloses that people operating businesses at the above addresses are desirous of a 30 minute parking area in that location. It is recommended by the undersigned that in accordance with Ordinance #687, a resolution be passed ordering the Police Department to post signs on the east side of Alcoa from a point 50 feet south of Vernon Avenue to the south property line of 4336 Alcoa limiting parking to thirty minutes.
