RESOLUTION NO. 1902
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 190~.PROVIDING FOR BALLOTING BY
ABSENTEE MISCELL..ANEOUS EMPLOYEES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERN()N RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon believes
that no miscellaneous employee should be denied the privilege of voting
upon the pr.oposedamendment to the contract providing for participation
in the State Employees I Retirement System; .and
WHEREASi it has been called to the attention of the City
Council that some miscellaneous employees. of the Ci.ty are on leave because
of illness;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That any miscellaneous employee of the
City of Vernon who, because of illness. or for any reason" is unable to attend
at the polls to east hbr vote on the 19th day of .MarchI 1956.. may request from
the City Clerk a ballot in the proper form to be used at said election, and the
City Clerk may deliver the same bymaU or by messengerl and the miscel-
laneous employee receiving such ballot may return the same to the Judges of
Election by maUor by messenger.. provided the same is received by the
Judges of Election during the period of time that the polls are open on the
19th day of Marchs 1956. Said ballot shan be returned in a sealed envelope
containing the signa~ure of the miscellaneous employee" together wltha. nota-
tion indicating that the ballot is to be removed from the envelope and secretly

deposited in the ballot bqx by an election officer serving at s.aid election.
The envelope containing su.ch absentee ballot shall be retained. by the Ju.dges:
and returned.. to the Clerk with the tally of the votes.
SECTION 2:
Resolution No. 1901 shan remain in fun
force and efleet.. except insofar as it is amended by this Resolution.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Yernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same
shall be in full :f'o:rceand. effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED at an adj.ourned regular meeting this
