RESOLUTION NO. 1909
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
3 REQUESTING INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO ANNEX A PORTION
4 OF THE CITY OF YERNON TO COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 1
OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY.

WHEREASI the future disposal of sewage from this area is a
?
matter of public interest and it appears that such disposal may be pro-

vided in a more satisfactory and economical .manner than at present by
9
the inclusion of that portion of the City of Vernon4 lying northerly of the
northerly boundary of County Sanitation District No. 1 and westerly of
Los Angeles River within County Sanitation District No. J of Los Angeles
County with facilities for joint disposal through the present outfall and
treatment works of other County Sanitation Districts now established and
in operation with an ocean outfall near White Point;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Vernon. that the Board of Supervi.sors of County of Los Angeles
and the Board of Directors of County Sanitation District No. 11 bel and
it is herebYI requested to initiate proceedings for the annexation of that
portion of the City of Vernon. lying northerly of the northerly boundary of
County Sanitation District No. 1 and westerly of Los Angeles River to
County Sanitation District No.1 of Los Angeles County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEDI that the City Clerk bel and he
is herebYI authorized and instructed to forward a copy of this Resolution
to the Chairman of the Board of Supervisorsl and a. copy to the Chief
EJ?gineer of the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this .20th day of MarchI 1956.
