RESOLUTION NO. 1910

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
3 REQUESTING INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS.BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS AND THE BOARD OF DmECTORS TO ANNEX A PORTION
4 OF THE CITY OF VERNON TO COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICT NO.2
OF LOS ANGEL.ES COUNTY.

6 WHEREAS" the future disposal of sewage from this area is a
7 matter of public interest and it appears that such disposal may be pro"""
8 vided in a more satisfactory and economical manner than at present by
9 the inclusion of that portion of the City of Vernon" lying northerly and
10 easterly of the Los Angeles River with facilities for joint dispOSal
11 through the pres:ent outfall and treatment works of other CountySanita-
12 tion Districts nowestablis:hed and in operation with an ocean outfall
13 near White Point;
14 NOW" THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
15 the City of Vernon" that the Board of Supervisors of County of Los Angeles
16 and the Board of Dire<:tors of County Sanitation Dis:trict No.2" bel and
17 it is hereby" requested to initiate proceedings for the annexation of that
18 portion of the City of Vernon" lying northerly and easterly of the Los
19 Angeles River to County Sanitation District No.2 of Los Angeles County.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED" that the City Clerk be" and he
21 is hereby" authorized and instructed to forward a copy of this Resplution
22 to the Chairman of the Board of SUpervisors" and a copy to the Chief
23 Engineer of the County Sanitation .Districts .0fLos: Angeles County.
