RESOLUTION NO. 1926
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY TO THE CITY OF
VERNON OF ONE NEW MOTOR TRACTOR AND ACCESSORIES FOR USE
OF THE STREET DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS
NO. 193 OF SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
9 directed to give notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the furnishing
10 and delivery to the City of Vernon of one new motor tractor and accessories
11 in accordance with Specifications No. 193 of said City" approved by
12 Resolution No. 1925" and the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals contained
13 in said Specifications No. 193.

SECTION 2:
There being no newspaper of general circula-
15 tion printed. published and circulated in the City of Vernon" the City Clerk
16 is hereby directed to post said notice.. or cause the same to be posted. in
17 three of the most public places in said City. to wit: The northwest corner
18 of 38thStreet and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis Boule-
19 yard and Pacific Boulevard" and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
20 City Hall of the City of Vernon. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said City.

SECTION 3:
The first posting of said noticeahall be not
less than ten (10) days before the date of opening bids for the proposed
equipment.
The notice s.hall distinctly state the equipment
to be furnished.
SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupona.nd thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 1st day of May.. 1956.

7 Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Yernon.
8 California. at the City Clerk's office of said City at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.
9 Vernon 58. California. until 2:00 o'clock p. m. on May 15. 1956. .for
10 furnishing and delivery to the City of Vernon of one new Motor Tractor and
11 Accessories to be used in the Street Department of said City. in accordance
12 with Specifiea.tions No. 193 approved by said City. The proposals will be
13 publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers of the City Hall located
14 at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.Yernon. California. on the date and at the time
15 above-mentioned. Specifications and contract documents may be obtained

at the above-mentioned office of the City Clerk. upon payment of a deposit
of ten dollars ($10.00) for each specification.
The equipment to be furnished under said specification is as
follows:
One New Motor Tractor and Accessories. for use of the Street
Department of said City.
ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION:
The City reserves the right to reje.ct any and all bids and accept
any bid which in its judgment will produce the most satisfactory.and
economical result. suited to the requirements of the Street Department of
said City.
The bidder is required to specifythe proposed date of delivery
and the City Council shall take into consideration in awarding the contract.
the time required for the delivery of said new motor tractor and accessories.
SCHEDULE OF PROPOSALS:
Each proposal must be delivered to the City Clerk of the City
of Vernon. City Hall. 4305 Santa Fe Avenue. Vernon. California. in sealed

1 envelopes. at or before the time stated in this notice and must be plainly
2 marked Hproposal for the furnishing and delivery to the City .of Vernon one
3 new Motor Tractor and Accessories". No oral. telegraphic, or telephonic
4 proposal will be accepted.
5 BOND REQUIREMENT:
6 All bids mUlrt be accompanied by a certified check or draft
~
7 payable at a bank authorized to do business in the State of California, payable
8 at sight, to the City Clerk of the City of Vernon. in an amount equal to ten
9 percent (10%) of the bid submitted. Unsuccessful bidders' checks win be
10 returned when the contract is awarded. The successful bidder's check win
11 be returned when the contract is signed and contractor's bond as: required
12 by law is furnished and approved.
