6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR THE FURNISffiNG AND DELIVERY TO THE CITY OF
VERNON OF TWO NEW HOSE CARRIERS AND ACCESSORIES IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 194 OF S.AID CITY.
SECTION 1:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to give notice inviting sealed proposals: or bids: for the
furnishing and delivery to the City of Vernon of two new hose carriera and
~ccess:ories in accordance with Specifications No. 194 of said City~ approved
by Resolution No. 1930. and the Notice lnviting Sealed Proposals or Bids
contained in said Specifications No. 194.
SECTION 2:
There being no newspaper of general circula-
tion printed. published and circulat~d in the City of Vernon. the City Clerk
is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause the same to be posted, in
three of the most public places in said City, to wit: The northwest corner of
38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard
and Pacific B oUlevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall
of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said City_
SECTION 3:
The first posting of said notice shall be not
less than ten (10) days before the date of opening bids for the proposed
equipment.
The notice shall distinctly state the equipment to be furnished.
SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon ahall
certify to the passage of this ReSOlution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in fun force and effect.
ADOPTED and ApPROVED this 15th day of May, 1956.

8 Vernon 58. California. until 2:00 o'clock p. m. on June $J 1956. f.or the
9 furnishing and delivery to the City of Vernon of two new hase carriers and
10 accessories ta be used in the Fire Department of said City. in accardance
11 with Specifications No. 194 approved by said City. The proposals will be
12 publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers of the City Hall located
13 at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.. Vernon. Califarnia.. an the date and at the time
14 above-mentioned. SpecificaUonsand contract documents may be obtained
15 at the above-mentioned office of the City Clerk.. upon payment of a deposit
16 of ten dollars ($10.00) for each specification.

ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION:
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and accept
any bid which in its judgment will produce the most satisfactory and economic I
result. suited to the requirements of the Fire Department of said City.
The bidder is required to specify the proposed date of delivery
and the City Council shall take into consideration in awarding the contraet.

SCHEDULE OF PROPOSALS:
Each pr.oPosal must be delivered to the City Clerk of the City
of Vernon.. City Hall... 4305 Santa Fe Avenue. Vern.on. California. in sealed

BOND REQUIREMENT:
6 All bidamust be accompanied bya certified check or draft
7 payable at a bank authorized to do business in the State of California I payable
8 at sight. to the City Clerk of the City of Vernonl in an amount equal to ten
9 percent (10%) of the bid submitted. Unsuccessful bidders' checks will be
10 returned when the contract is awarded. The successful Bidderts check
11 will be returned when the contract is Bigned and faithful performance bond
12 in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price is
13 furnished and approved.
