RESOLUTION NO. 1933
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
LOS ANGELES & SALT LAKE RAILROAD COMPANY AND ITS LESSEE
THE UNION PACIFIC .RAILROAD COMPANY.. THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES.. CITY OF MAYWOOD AND THE CITY OF VERNON REGARDING
WARNING SIGNALS AT CROSSING NO. 3A-4.2.
THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS. it has been recommended that the present wigwag
signal be r.eplaced with two flashing lights: at Crossing 3A-4.2 at the
inters.ection of Downey Road and Fruitland Avenue; and
WHEREAS~an agreement has been submitted covering the
replacement of said signals and it is recommended that said Agreement
be executed by the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS.. the County of Los Angeles and the City of Maywood
have heretofore executed said Agreement;
NOW.. THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the Mayor and the City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to execute. for and on behaUof the City of
Vernon. that certain Agreement submitted by the Union Pacific Company
for the replacement of signals at Crossing3A -4. 2at the intersection of
Downey Road and Fruitland Avenue.
SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City ofYernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 15th day of May. 1956.
