1934
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY
TO INITIATE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE FORMATION OF A COUNTY
SANITATION DISTRICT TO INCLUDE A PORTION OF THE INCORPORATED
CITY OF VERNON.
6 WHEREAS. the future disppsal of sewage from that portion of
7 the City of Vernon. as hereinafter described. is a matter of public interest;
8 and
9 WHEREAS. it now appears that such disposal may be provided
10 in a more satisfactory and economical manner than at present by the in-
11 clusionof that portion of the City .of Vernon. as hereinafter described. within
12 a proposed County Sanitation District. with facilities for joint disposal
13 through the presentoutfaU and treatment works of other County.Sanitation
14 Districts now established and in operation with an ocean outfall near White
15 Point.
16 NOW~ THEREFORE. be it resolved by the City Council of the
17 City .of Vernon as follows:

SECTION 1:
That said City Council hereby requests the
Board ofSnpervisors of Los Angeles County to initiate proceedings for the
formation of a County Sanitation District to include a portion of the City of
Vernon. within exterior boundaries described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the boundary of the City of Vernon.
as the same existed on May 7. 1956, said point being also the
southeasterly corner of Lot 1 of Poindexter & Newmark's Tract.
as shown on map recorded in Book 11. page 45 of Maps. in the
office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence
northerly along said boundary and following the same in all its
various courses and curves to the first intersection with the
boundary of County Sanit€ttion District No. 1 of Los Angeles
County, as same existed on said date; thence westerly along sa.id
last mentioned boundary to the westerly boundary of said City of
VernOn (along the easterly line of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Rail-
road Company right of way. San Pedro Branch); thence northerly.
westerly and southerly along said last mentioned boundary to said
boundary of County Sanitation District No. .1 of Los Angeles County;
thence westerly along said last mentioned boundary. and following
the same in all its various courses to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2:
That the City Clerk be. and is hereby
instructed to forward two copies of this resolution to the office of the County
