RESOLUTION NO. 1935
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERN"ON
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A SUPPLEMENTAL .AGREEMENTa
DATED SEPTEMBER 2ND. 1955. BETWEEN THE CITY OF LQS ANGELESa
A MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONa THE CITY OF VERNON.. A MUNICIPAL
CORPORATIONlI AND SOUTHERN PACIFIC COM.PANY.. A CORPORATION..
COVERING TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT 25THI;AND ALAMEDA STREETS IN
THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
8 WHEREAS~ extensive negotiations have been carried on between
9 the City of Los Angeles. a municipal corporation~ the City of V ernon~ a
10 municipal corporation. and the Southern Pacific Company ~ a: corporation~
11 through their respective legal departments and engineering staffs; and
12 WHEREAS... said parties are in accord on a supplemental agree-
13 ment entered into on the 2nd day of September~ 1955. a copy of which
14 agreement is attached hereto and hereby referred to; and
15 WHEREAS~ the City Council finds that said supplemental agree-
16 ment is for the best interests of the City of Vernon;
17 NOW... THEREFORElI BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
The Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of
19 Vernon are hereby authorized and directed to execute the Supplemental
20 Agreement dated September 2nd. 1955 between the City of Los Angeles.
21 the City of Vernon and the Southern Pacific Com.pany~ covering traffic
22 signals at 25th Street and Alameda Street in the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 6th day of June. 1956.

The parties hereto entered into an agreement dated
June 30, 19~8 relating to construction, installation and
maintenance of a certain grade crossing protective sig-
nalling system between Los Angeles and Vernon, Los
An.eles County, California.
By supplem8Dtal agreement dated June 15, 1951, the
parties hereto entered into an agreement providing for
additional traffic signals at 25th and Alameda Streets
in VernoD, California.
It is the desire of the parties hereto to relocate
said signals at 25th and Alameda Streets in Vernon,
California as shown on print of Los Angeles Division
Drawing D-2022, sheet No.1, revised May 2, 1955, hereto
attached and aade a part hereof.

M}REKMENT :
NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed by and betweea tae partie.
hereto as follows, to-wit:
1. The City of L08 Angeles will furnish the materlals and per-
tera the work of relocation and installation of said traffic aigaals
in accordance with the specifications therefor submitted by the
Traffic Engineer ot the City of Les Angeles and approved by tile
parties hereto.
2. Southem Pacific Coapuy shall. pertorm all _rk in cooectio.
with track circuits required for the coordination of said traffic
signals with train JIlOV'ementa and shall maiata1n saiel circuits.

and the City of Vernon shall each. pay to Southern Pacific Company
One-third (1/3)" of the cost of materials and installation of the
work to be done by Southern Pacific Company, and Southern Pacific
Coapany and the City of VernlJn shall each pay to t he City of Los
Angeles One-third (1/3) of the c,", gt", vI :na.ter'! 11 s and work to be
performed by the City of Los Angeles.
5. Said traffic signals shall be deemed a part of the traffic
signal facilities, the installation of which was contemplated by
said agreement dated June 30, 1948, and the maintenance thereof shall
be in accordance with the provisions of said agreement.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have signed this
agreement the day and year hereinabove written in triplicate.
