Resolution No. 1937 ~ 1 2 3 4 5 RESOLUTION NO. 1937 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF GILMORE & WILCOX FOR TIlE FURNISHING OF ONE NEW MOTOR TRACTOR AND ACCESSORIES FOR USE OF THE STREET DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH. SPECIFICATIONS NO. 193 APPROVED BY RESOLUTION NO. 1925 OF THE CITY OF VERNON", 6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 7 WHEREAS. on the 15th day of May. 1956, at 2 o'clock p. m. 8 sealed bids were opened for the furnishing of one new motor tractor, with 9 accessories, for use of the Street Department of said City, in accordance 10 with specifications No. 193; and 11 WHEREAS" under date of May 31. 1956. Harold A. Barnett, 12 Consulting Engineer, submitted to the City Council a letter stating that 13 the bid of Gilmore & Wilcox was the lowest bid received meeting the bid 14 requirements, and recommending that the bid of said Gilmore & Wilcox be 15 accepted; 16 NOW. THEREFORE". I!I ... <l: ~ ~ ~ u : ~ 31 :I 32 SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby authorize the execution of a contract with Gilmore & Wilcox for one new Ferguson Model TO-35 Tractor c.omplete with aecessories for a total price of $3120.00 net, delivery to be made within ten (10) days after the execution of the contract, in accordance with Specifications approved by Resolution No. 1925 of the City of Vernon. SECTION 2: That all other bids are hereby rejected. and the City Clerkis hereby instructed and directed to return all checks to unsuccessful bidders. SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. G. A. ANDERSON.. Consulting Engineer. a duly licensed engineer, hereinafter referred to as i 'CONTRA.CTOR if; WITNESSETH: That for and in consideration of the amounts hereinafter agreed to be paid by City to said Contractor and the full and faitbfulperforma.nce by the respective parties, the parties agree aa follows: 1. Contractor shall prepare and present to the City Council of 13 said City preliminary plans and cost estimates for approximately 6. 9 miles 14 of sewer mains in the City of Vernon. Said plans to be so prepared to enable 15 said City to dispose of its sewage through the facilities of the County 16 Sanitation District. more particularly described in a report entitled "Sewering 17 Parcels of the City .of Vernon to the System of the County Sanitation Districts 18 of Los Angeles County H. now on fUe with the City Clerk of said City. 19 2. City agrees to compensate Contractor at the rate of $5.50 per 20 man hour for men employed by Contractor and l.lead in the preparation of 21 said plans and cost estimates. Contractor agrees to keep daily time sheets covering the time spent on said plans and estimates in his office and to allow inspection thereof by an authorized representative of City at all reasonable times. 4. Contractor agrees that all blue prints, either final or preliminary. shall be charged and paid for at cost. S. Contractor further agrees that this contract maybe terminated upon the giving of five days. written notice to Contractor by City, and. tbat no charge of any kind shall be made by Contractor because of loss of profits or otherwise because of said cancellation or cancellations. 6.
