3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH HAROLD A.
4 BARNETT~. CONSULTING ENGINEER~ FOR THE PREPARATION OF
PRELIMINARY PLANS AND COST ESTIMATES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
5 OF APPROXIMATELY 6. 9 MILES OF SEWERAGE FACILITIES IN THE
CITY OF VERNON.

7 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
8 WHEREAS.. the County Sanitation Districts of .Los Angeles
9 County have submitted plans for the disposal of sewage from the City of
10 Vernonthrough its facilities; and
11 WHEREAS. in order to take advantage of said County sewerage
12 facilities. it now appears advisable to issue bonds to finance s.aid sewage
13 disposal plan; and
14 WHEREAS. the amount of said bond issue will be partially deter-
15 mined by the eost of sewerage facilities to be constructed in the City of
16 Vernon; and
17 WHEREAS. Harold A. Barnett is a regis.tered Civil Engineer and
18 fully qualified to prepare said plans: and cost estimated;
19 NOW ~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the Mayor be. and he is. hereby authorized
21 to enter into a contract for and on behalf of the City of Vernon with Harold
22 A. Barnett for the preparation of preliminary plans. and cost es.timates. for
23 the cons.truction of approximately 6.9 miles of sewer mains in the City of
24 Vernon. a copy of said contract is attached hereto marked "Exhibit A".

SECTION 2:
That the amount to be paid for the preparation
of said plans. and cost estimates shall not exceed $1.500.00.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of VernQn shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same s.hall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19t.
