3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DECLARING PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES TO BE USED
4 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVEMENT AND
APPURTENANCES IN PUMPING PLANT NO. 3 AND IN THE NORTH SIDE
5 OF FRUITLAND AVENUE FROM THREE HUNDRED FORTY FEET TO SIX
HUNDRED SIXTY FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF DOWNEY ROAD
6 IN THE CITY OF VERNON.. IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO.
198 OF SAID CITY.

8 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECT ION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon has
ascertained and does hereby find and declare that the general prevailing
rate per diem for wages for laborers~ workmen and mechanics employed
by contractors and sub-contractors. for the doing of any work set forth in
Specifications No. 198. which specifications were duly adopted by the City
Council on June 19~ 1956. by Resolution No. 1944~ ts as follows:
The general prevailing rate or the per diem wages. rates for
Legal Holidays and overtime work. in the locality in which this work is to
be performed~ for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to
execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder. is
determined to be as follows:

1 Apprentices: May be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the
2 California Labor Code.
3 All others shall be paid at the prevailing wage rates paid in the
4 County of Los Angeles.
5 Overtime applicable to each cla.ssification shall be paid at the
6 prevailing overtime rate in the County of Los Angeles.
7 The foregoing schedule of hourly wage rates is based upon a
8 working day of eight (8) hours. The per diem rate shall be the hourly
9 rate multiplied by the aforementioned number of hours constituting a
10 working day.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
12 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
13 same shall be in full force and effect.
14 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19th day of June~ 1956.
