RESOLUTION NO. 1962
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
3 ACCEPTING THE BID OF u. S. PAVING COMPANY FOR THE RESTORA-
TION OF STREET SURFACES WITH ASPHALT CONCRETE AND CEMENT
4 CONCRETE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 197 OF SAID
CITY.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
7 WHEREAS" on the 17th day of July~ 1956~ at 2 Of clock p. m.
8 sealed bids were opened for the restoration of street surfaces with asphalt
9 concrete and cement concrete on certain streets in the City of Vernon on
10 account of pavement cuts by or for utilities and private contractors~ in
11 accordance with Specifications No. 197 of said City; and.
12 WHEREAS.. said bids were referred to Harold A. Barnett...
13 Consulting Engineer.. for checking and report; and
14 WHEREAS.. under date of July 30. 1956. Harold A. Barnett"
15 Consulting Engineer.. reported to the City Council recommending that the
16 contract be awa.rded to U. S. Paving Company for the sum of Twenty-three
17 Thousand.. Nine Hundred Eighty and 43/100 Dollars ($23.. 980.43) which is
18 the lowest bid meeting the bid requirements of Specifications No. 197 for the
19 aforesaid work.
20 NOW.. THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby authorize the Mayor of said City to execute a contract with
U. S. Paving Company for the restoration of street surfaces with asphalt
concrete and cement concrete on certain streets in the City of Vernon in
accordance with Specifications No. 197 approved by Resolution No. 1941
of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected~ and the
City Clerk is hereby instructed to return all checks to unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
