RESOLUTION NO. 1966
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' VERNON
APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR ACCUMULATION OF THE
GAS TAX ALLOCATION TO CITIES
WHEREAS, a memorandum of agreement has been presented
to be entered into with the State of California for accumu-
lation of the gas tax allocation to cities for the fiscal
yeer 1921-in the
City of Vernon
; and
WHEREAS, the city council has heard read said agree-
ment in full and is familiar with the contents thereof;
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the city
council of the
City of

vernon
that, under the provisions of
Section 200 of the Streets and Highways Code, the gas tax
allocated for major city streets be accumulated for future
c}:.r:-:e:1diture, and that said agreement be and the saL18 is
hereby approved, and the mayor and the city clerk are
di~ected to sign the same on behalf of said c1 t~i, said
agreement to be binding upon the city upon its execution
by the authorized officials of the State.

to as the city, and the Department of PUblic Works of the
State of California. hereinafter referred to as the depart-
ment;?
WITNESSETH, THAT~ WHEREAS~ in accordance with the pro~
visions of Section 194 of t.he Streets and Highways Code,
the department shall expend or cause to be expended within
the cities of this State the amount transferred to the state
Highway Fund in accordance ,,,ith Section.2l07 for expendi-
ture upon major cit.y streets in the proportion that the total
population of each city bears t;o ,the total population of all
cities in this Stat.e; and
WHEREAS,? under the provisions of Section 200 of the
Streets and. H::.ehways Code the city desires to authorize the
accUlllula tion of :funds a::;cruing to said city during the fis-
cal year ending June 30) 19$t;
NO'Vlp THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed that the depart-
ment will accuIlmlateand hold for future expenditure within
the city, o:runtil such time as the city submits a budget
in accordance with the provisions of Section 197 of the
