RESOLUTION NO. 1967
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
3 AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1883 OF SAID CITY.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
That effective July 1, 1956, Section
7 2 of Resolution No. 1883 be, andthe same is hereby amended to read as

ttSection 2:
That the compensation to be paid said
Consulting Engineer shall be the sum of One Thousand Forty
Dollars ($1,040.00) per month. For said fee, the Consulting
Engineer is-to give such technical supervision over the Engineer-
ing Department of said City as may be necessary to assure the
correctness of the work being done, and to be available for con-
sultation with the Engineering Department or with the City Council
during regular working hours at the office. of said Consulting
Engineer. Said Consulting Engineer shall employ a registered
civil engineer, satisfactory to the City of Vernon, whose full
time shall be placed at the disposal of the Engineering Department
of the City of Vernon and who shall maintain an office at the
location of the Engineering Department of said City, said office
facilities to be furnished by the City of Vernon. II
SECTION 2:
All Re.solutions, or parts of resolutions,
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED at an adjourned regular meeting
this 14th day of August, 1956.

To the Honorable City Council:
The adoption of a new salary resolution at the meet-
ing of July 3, 1956, did not affect the City's spe-
cial arrangement with Harold A. Barnett, Consulting
City Engineer.
Mr. Barnett was engaged pursuant to Resolution 1883;
and, if the City Council desires to increase the com-
pensation of the City Engineer in the same manner as
other employees, it is recommended that Resolution
1883 be amended, effective July 1, 1956, to provide
for compensation at the rate of $1,040 per month in
lieu of the presently specified figure of $935.
