A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS NO. 204 AND PLAN NO.B5-l414. CON-
SISTING OF TWO (2) SHEETS, FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION
OF MOTOR CONTROL EQUIPMENT AND APPURTENANCES AT PU1Vl.P
ROUSE NO. 2, 3576 EAST VERNON AVENUE.. CITY OWNED PROPERTY..
IN THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Harold A. Barnett.. Consulting Engineer. has
presented to the City Council with his letter of October II. 1956, Specifica-
tions No. 204 and Plan,.cE.ngiIieering Department Drawing No. B5-1414,
consisting of two (2) sheets, forthe furnishing and installation of electric
motor control equipment and appurtenances at Pump House No.2, 3576
East Vernon Avenue, and for the removal of certain electrical control
equipment and appurtenances at the same location, and recommends that
said specifications and plan be approved;
NOW.. THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That Specifications No. 204 and Plan,
SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
24 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
25 I same shall be in full force and effect.

3576 EAST VERNON AVENUE.. CITY OWNED PROPERTY.. IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 204 OF THE CITY
OF VERNON.
8 Pursuant to Resolution No. 1986 of the City of Vernon. adopted
9 on the 16th day of October. 1956. directing same. notice is hereby given
10 that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City of Vernon.
11 California. at the office of the City Clerk of said City. at the City Hall.
12 4305 Santa Fe Avenue. until the hour of two (2) otc 10ckP. M.. on the 7th
13 day of November. 1956$ for the furnishing and installation. in the City of
14 Vernon. of motor control equipment and appurtenances at Pump House No.2.
15 3576 East Vernon Avenue. City owned property. in accordance with Specifica-
16 tions No. 204 approved by said City. The proposals will be publicly opened
17 and read in the Council Chambers of the City Hall located at 4305 Santa. Fe
18 Avenue.. Vernon. California. on the date and the time above-mentioned.
19 Specifications and contract documents may be obtained at the above mentioned
20 office of the City Clerk upon pa.yment of a deposit of ten dollars. ($10.00) for
21 each specification.
22 The work to be done and materials and equipment to be furnished
23 under Specifications No. 204 is aa follows:
24 Removal and allowance for salvage of existing motor
25 c.ontrol equipment. furnishing and installing certain new

motor control equipment. relocating certain existing control
equipment. and furnishing and installing all necessary fixtures.
conduit. and wiring for controls and motors.
NOTE: The new motor control equipment shall consist of a 2000 Ampere
600-Volt. 3 phase. 60 cycle. Main Service Bus. a Main Service
Section. a Motor Control Center with combination across-the-line
motor starter units for one 75 h.p.. one-lOO h.p.. two-200 h.,p..

1 and one-250 h. p. ~ squirrel cage induction motors and
2 appurtenances.
3 The construction shall be in accordance with Plan No. B5-1414~
4 consisting of two (2) sheets and Specifications No. 204 heretofore approved
5 by the City Council of said City~ and now on file in the office of the City
6 Clerk of said City~ copy of which may be secured from the City Engineer of
7 said City.
8 Bidders are hereby notified that. pursuant to the provisions: of
9 Sections 1770-1781~ inclusive. Labor Code of California. the City Council
10 of the City of Vernon has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem
11 wages and rates for legal holidays and over-time work in the locality in
12 which this work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman or
13 mechanic needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the success'"
14 ful bidder, and that the Resolution establishing these prevailing rates is on
15 file with the City Clerk of the City of Vernon. The prevailing rates so
16 determined are as follows:

5 to the City in good condition not later than forty-eight (48) hours after the
