5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION NO. 2003
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF LEASE NO. 53 BETWEEN THE LOS
ANGELES TRANSIT LINES AND THE CITY OF VERNON.
6 WHEREASI the City of Vernon has heretofore entered into a
7 lease with the Lo.s Angeles Transit Lines for the erectionl maintenance
8 and operation of one guy wire attached to pole No. 25085-C# lo.cated at
9 Pacific Boulevard. four feet south of Leonis Boulevard. which lease
10 expires on April 1# 1956; and
11 WHEREAS# Carl A. Heinze. Consulting Electrical Engineer for
12 the City of Vernon" has submitted a Renewal of Lease No. 53 for the term
13 April 1. 1956 to April 1. 1961. and recommends the execution thereof by
14 the City o.f Vernon.
15 NOW.. THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City
17 of Vernon are hereby authorized and directed to execute the Renewal of
18 Lease No. 53. between the Los Angeles Transit Lines. lessor. and the
19 City of Vernonl lessee. covering use of pole 25085-C at Pacific Boulevard.
20 four feet south of Leonis Boulevard. in the City of Vernon. for the term
21 April 1. 1956 to April 11 1961.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
23 c.ertify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
24 same shall be in full force and effect.
25 ADOPTED and APPROVED this . 4th day of December. 1956.

Gentlemen:
Attached are the originals and two copies each of
renewals of Lease No. 53 and 103 between the Los Angeles Transit
Lines and the City of Vernon. Lease No. 53 covers the attachment
of one guy wire to pole No. 25085-0, located at Pacific Boulevard,
four feet south of Leonis Blvd. Lease No. 103 covers seven con-
ductors attached to pole No. 2393-0, located at Pacific Blvd.,
145 feet west of 46th Street.
Lease No. 53 is renewed and extended for the five year
term ending April 1st, 1961, and Lease No. 103 is renewed and ex-
tended for the five year term ending August 17, 1961. The annual
rental on these two lease agreements will be paid by the Southern
California Edison Co. as an operating expense in accordance with
our lease agreement.
It is recommended that the renewal of these leases b# ap-
proved and the mayor and city clerk authorized to execute the
agreements on behalf of the City in accordance with resolution to
be submitted by the City Attorney.
After execution on behalf of the City, all copies together
with copy of resolution should be returned to me for transmittal
to the Los Angeles Transit Lines for their signatures, after which
one copy of each lease agreement will be returned to the Cilt,. Clerk
for record and file.

Los Angeles Transit Lines has assigned and conveyed to
Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority, a public
corporation of the State of California, and said
Authority has assumed
Pole Lease No. 53, dated April 1, 1946, and renewal
Lease dated December 28, 1956, between Los Angeles
Transit Lines, First Party, and the City of Vemon,
Second Party, granting the City of Vernon the prirl1ege
to erect, maintain and operate one guy wire attached
to pole No. 25085-0, located at Pacific Blvd. four feet
south of Leonis Blvd., at a rental of $2.20 per year.
