RESOLUTION NO. 2007
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
3 CONFORMING TO NATIONAL POLICY ON HOLIDAYS FOR DECEMBER
24TH AND 31ST.. 1956.

5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLO S:

7 WHEREAS. the Monday before Christmas. 1956 and the Monday
8 before New Yearfs Day of 1957 are set aside as holidays for many govern-
9 ment and municipal employees; and
10 WHEREAS, the City Council desires to let as many employees as
11 possible. consistent with the needs of said City.. have each of said days
12 as a holiday; and
13 WHEREAS. the granting of said holidays is in conformance with
14 the National and Municipal policy;
15 NOW~ THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That all employees of the City of Vernon.. where
17 practicable. be given the Monday before Christmas. to wit: December
18 24. 1956# and the Monday before New Year's Day. to wit: December 31#
19 1956. as holidays. and that those employees who. because of the necessity
20 of City business work on said Mondays, or either of them. are to be given
21 an additional day, or days. holiday to compensate for the holidays above
22 described. at such time as the Heads of their respective departments are
23 able to make such arrangements.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED. this 4th day of December, 1956.
